There is approximately 35 miles of multi-purpose hiking in the Shaver Lake area. Shaver Lake has everything from kid-friendly trails near the lake to advance trails with a high elevation gain. The All-trails app is recommended to find the perfect trail for you.
Mountain Biking
Boating
During summer months, China Peak Mountain Resort is open for mountain biking. They have 26 different trails that can go on for about 21 miles. China Peak has rentals available if needed.
Enjoy these beautiful summer months on a boat! The Shaver Lake Marina offers rentals for jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, pontoon boats, and fishing boats. You can also head to Huntington Lake to go sailing.
Fishing
The lake contains a good population of Kokanee, a fresh water Salmon, and Rainbow Trout. The lake also has Brown Trout, Small Mouth Bass, Catfish, Blue Gill, Brook Trout, Carp and Crawdads.
Horseback Riding

See the lake from a different perspective! Shaver Stables offers 1-2 hour guided trail rides around the lake on horseback. They are located along HWY 168 by Camp Edison.
There are multiple off-roading trails near the Shaver Lake area, from a beautiful scenic drive to difficult terrain. All-Trails is a recommended app to find directions and trails that fit what you may be looking for.
Rock Climbing
Snow Parks
Shaver Lake has 79 different routes for rock climbing and lots more in nearby areas. Whether you're wanting to go top-roping or bouldering, this area has a lot to pick from.
Snow parks are perfect for families looking to play in the snow. Snow park sites near Shaver Lake are Balsam Forbe, Tamarack, Coyote, Eastwood, and Huntington Lake. Please note that you will need to purchase a day pass before going.

China Peak Ski Resort offers a verity of terrain parks for all ability levels. They also offer lessons, gear rentals, and more. Check out their website for up-to-date conditions.

Snowshoeing in Shaver Lake offers a unique experience around the forest and lakes. Snow parks are the most common areas to do some snowshoeing. Always prepare for weather conditions and be cautious of cross country skiers on trails.
